A bomb blast has reportedly occurred on Friday, October 31 at the Central Park in Cross, Gombe State.
The 9:30am explosion was sparked by a device which was left inside a vehicle in the park.
An official of the State Security Service (SSS) reportedly said:
“They left the bomb inside one of the vehicles at the park,” “The blast went off at about 9:30am. Up till now we don’t know the number of people, but it’s a very busy park so many people will have died in such a bomb blast.”
An employee of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) is also said to have confirmed the incident to The Cable saying that 30 casualties had so far been recorded.
Rescue operations are currently ongoing at the site of the explosion. Story developing.
