Lil' Wayne has been the driving force of Cash Money Records for the past decade, bringing in Drake and Nicki Minaj to the fold.

In what can be described as one of the most shocking Hip Hop stories of the year, super star rapper Lil Wayne took to his Twitter account to state his displeasure with his long standing record label Cash Money  for not releasing his album.

He also expressed his desire in leaving the label which he has been a part of for nearly twenty years. "To all my fans, I want u to know that my album won't and hasn't been released bekuz Baby & Cash Money Rec. refuse to release it" he tweeted.

"This is not my fault. I am truly and deeply sorry to all my fans but most of all to myself and my family for putting us in this situation. I want off this label and nothing to do with these people but unfortunately it ain't that easy" said the rapper on his Twitter account.

He further tweeted that he is a prisoner in the record label. "I am a prisoner and so is my creativity Again,I am truly sorry and I don't blame ya if ya fed up with waiting 4 me & this album. But thk u."
Lil Wayne ended his shocking tweets with "pray".

The Grammy award winning rapper has been on Cash Money Records since he was a teenager. Cash Money Records is owned by Brian 'Baby' Williams, and Ronald 'Slim' Williams.
Last month Tyga made a similar rant on Twitter, expressing his desire to leave the imprint.
